👋 Hello, I'm Mayu. My name is pronounced "my-you". I currently lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered features at Busuu (Chegg) and have consulted for early-stage startups on design strategy and execution.

My journey

I started my career designing learning environments in the classroom -- first for children going through homelessness, then for the Spanish public school system. After a few years of teaching, I transitioned into the startup world to focus on designing for the digital world. I'm driven by my deep curiosity for how people learn and interact.

Professional me

Curious, analytical, and passionate about simplifying complex workflows, I've spent the last 5 years honing my skill set in UX/UI design, prototyping, SaaS/Web apps, usability testing, and iterative development.

Outside of Work
You’ll often find me working on ceramics, cooking, foraging for mushrooms, reading, or exploring new places near and far.
